New Year, New Everything at Il Professore
Chef Riccardo Faiella has given his Italian gem a serious glow up, with double the space, a new wine cellar, a full bar, and so much more
Since 2024, Chef Riccardo Faiella has been giving locals a truly authentic Italian dining experience at his intimate restaurant, Il Professore. Located in the Countyline Plaza in Tequesta, the eatery opened as a small but mighty gem, with very limited seating for those “in the know.” Born in Capri, Chef Riccardo crafted a highly curated menu of signature dishes, wowing diners with his homemade sauces, focaccia, and pastas, accompanied by a modest but stellar wine list.
Now, just as season swings into high gear, Chef Riccardo has unveiled a new-and-improved Il Professore, with an updated menu, a lot more space, and, liquor lovers will be happy to hear, a full bar. Earlier this year, he took over the space next door and temporarily closed the restaurant’s doors while embarking on the renovation. The new space opened a few weeks ago, revealing a fresh, welcoming dining room with coastal Italian vibes.
Start your experience with fresh antipasti like crostini al prosciutto, then indulge in main courses like pappardelle al ragu del giorno ( Chef changes things up daily with a different homemade ragu), scaloppine di vitello al limone e capperi (veal scallopini with lemon and capers), or pesce del giorno in salsa Mediterranea (fish of the day with olives, garlic, cherry tomatoes, and white wine sauce).
With a brand new wine cellar housing an extensive list of labels from all over the world, you will have no trouble finding the perfect bottle to pair with your meal. Plus, Il Professore now has a full bar, meaning you can start your night with your favorite martini, brandy, or tequila.
Il Professore is open for lunch, too, with delicious paninis like the Barese (Italian sausage, sautéed broccoli rabe, and provola cheese), the Il Professore (grilled chicken, stracciatella cheese, sliced tomatoes, and homemade pistachio cream), and the Il Carpaccio (homemade salmon carpaccio, arugula, capers, red onion, and stracciatella cheese), all pressed to perfection on homemade focaccia or ciabatta (gluten-free focaccia available).
Chef Riccardo recently gave us a tour of the new space and let us sample some of his magic—click here for a peek at our visit!
