Getting to the Root of it: Ford’s Farm

300 person event & dinner series space at Ford’s Farm

Farm-fresh ingredients, Michelin-rated chefs, and great company? Ford’s Farm’s new Dinner Series offers a night to remember under the stars.

If you follow the South Florida foodie scene, you’re no doubt familiar with Chef Jeremy Ford. The Florida native is one of the top chefs in our area—with two Michelin starts to prove it. Ford earned a star for his Miami eatery, Stubborn Seed, and this year, he added a Green Star to his portfolio, an honor bestowed for outstanding sustainable and eco-friendly practices. That coveted Green Star was merited in large part by his work at Ford’s Farm, and now you can experience all the goodness firsthand!

On November 1, Ford’s Farm launched its brand-new Dinner Series, where Chef Jeremy and his partner, Chef Joe Mizzoni collaborate with friends and fellow chefs to create experiences to remember. The dinners are hosted in the barn on Ford’s Farm in Homestead, where guests dine on in a community setting at long farmhouse tables under twinkling lights. The chefs prepare everything from scratch right on site, using fresh ingredients from the farm—a true farm-to-table experience. The first dinner, a collaboration with Chef Mike Solomonov of South Beach’s Aviv, sold out—so if you want to be one of the lucky few who get to dine this season, don’t delay in securing tickets!

We recently attended the collaboration dinner with Chef Jeff Budnechky of Apocalypse BBQ and it was a magical night under the stars set inside the barn on the farm. The barn is the perfect event space too if you ever wanted to host an event there - it holds up to 300 people and is cozy, inviting and such a unique space. Upon arrival, each chef had a station serving canapés that were out of this world - my favorite being the stone crab taquitos and we also each had a welcome cocktail to get the party started.

The dinner itself was an interactive and fun experience as you were able to watch the chefs cook on open fires, plate everything right in front of you, and enjoy different wines as the night went on. The service was spot on and we really loved the creativity behind each dish as Chef Jeremy and Chef Jeff brought “tweezer food” (as Jeff called it) and smoky BBQ together to come up with incredible dishes.

Watch our entire experience here for a closer look.

Upcoming dinners in the series include: Chef Pushkar Marathe of Stage January 10; a special “Chef’s Garden Colab” with farmer Lee Jones and Chefs Brad Kilgore and Seth Blumenthal January 21; Irish Dinner with Chef Ryan O’Sullivan February 7; and Chefs Dean Max (“the Kind of American Seafood”) Cindy Hutson March 7. More events in the Dinner Series will be announced soon.
