Summer Idea: Hop on a Food Tour!
Explore our incredible culinary scene this summer, from must-try favorites to hidden gems, on one of these exciting gastronomic journeys led by expert guides
With fewer folks around during the off-season, it’s the perfect time to explore all the nooks and crannies of our area that we often take for granted—including all the amazing restaurants in Palm Beach and the Treasure Coast. We all have our favorite go-tos when it comes to dining out, and it’s easy to put off trying something new. So instead of booking a table at your usual spot, how about joining a fun culinary tour? Not only do you get a sampling of cuisine and drinks from a handful of restaurants all in one shot, but you also get an evening of fun with friends and neighbors (and don’t have to make any decision about where to eat!). Here are 3 local tours to consider.
IN STUART
Get a taste of downtown Stuart on the Scrumptious Stuart walking tour hosted by Treasure Coast Culinary Tours. The 3-hour tour includes up to 6 food stops, where you and the group will taste bites and sips from some of the best in the area. You’ll meet at a pre-disclosed location downtown and head off on foot (rain or shine), strolling from place to place over about a quarter-mile area. All diners on the Scrumptious Stuart Tour (which incudes alcohol) must be 21 or over, and the tours take place Monday through Friday. Tickets are $119/person and can be booked here.
Interested in a side of history with your food? Hop on The Flavor Excursion’s Historical Foodies Tour, where you’ll learn about train robberies, dreaded pirates, and more as you eat your way through downtown Stuart. View the schedule and pricing here.
IN DELRAY BEACH and BOCA RATON
Down in southern Palm Beach County, Craft Food Tours hosts various culinary excursions, including the Boca Raton Food Tour and the Downtown Delray Dinner & Drinks Tour. In Boca Raton, stroll through beautiful Mizner Park and learn about the rich history and culture of the area from a knowledgable guide - while sampling food from 5+ restaurants in the area and enoying 2 craft beverage tastings. The walking tour lasts about 3 hours and takes place on Saturdays. Tickets are $99/adult and $89/minors under 21. In downtown Delray Beach, the 2.5-hour walking tour covers 4 local gems within a 1-mile radius, plus tastings/vendor demos and 4 craft beverage samples. Delray tours are on Thursdays, and tickets are $109/adults, $89/minors under 21. Learn more about both tours here.
IN WEST PALM BEACH
West Palm Beach is packed with bars and restaurants - and whatever you’re interested in, you can be sure there’s a tour for that. West Palm Beach Food Tours offers all kinds of excursions featuring cocktails, history, and culinary gems. On the HistoricWest Palm Beach Neighborhood Food Tour, sample food from James Beard-nominated chefs, Michelin Award winners, and more while exploring some of the most intriguing neighborhoods in the area (by van). On the scandalous Prohibition Dinner & Drinks Tour (21+ only), hear naughty tales of speakeasies and rebellious spirits while walking the city streets, sipping on handcrafted cocktails inspired by the Prohibition Era, and sampling bites from some very glitzy downtown restaurants. And on the Mornings in the Market Food Tour, spend a morning at the West Palm Beach GreenMarket savoring locally made brunch items, Cuban coffee and arepas, mimosas, and more.
