Food Network Fame in PBC

Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives” recently filmed at a handful of Palm Beach County restaurants. Read on to find out which local spots are having a TV moment.

For years, chef and TV personality Guy Fieri has been road-tripping across the country in search of the best “classic greasy spoons,” featuring his finds on his hit show “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives” (known as “Triple D” among fans). Recently, the spiky-haired personality visited our area with his son, Hunter, stopping by six restaurants in PBC. To be clear, the show’s title is a bit of a misnomer, as many of the places Fieri visits are far from “greasy spoons.” The chef seeks out unique restaurants that make their own ingredients in-house or have some other distinguishing trait.

Check out which three local joints are scheduled to be featured on the show in the next few weeks. And stay tuned for part 2 of this blog post later this week to read about the other three restaurants whose episodes have already aired (Alaina’s Cafe & Bake Shoppe, NEVS Barbecue, and Driftwood).

TROPICAL SMOKEHOUSE | West Palm Beach
Pitmaster Rick Mace cooks up some of the tastiest smoked dishes around, including BBQ Scottish salmon, smoked mahi, prime brisket, and mojo pulled pork. All fish and meat dishes are served by the half pound and range from $14 (pulled pork) to $39 (full rack of ribs). Add sides like shredded kale and pepitas, crispy yuca, crinkle fries, Caribbean slaw, smoky black beans, and collard greens for just $5 each (or get 3 for $13). The episode focuses on the original location in West Palm Beach, but they just opened a second location in Delray Beach too.

What Fieri sampled: the signature Cajun gator sausage. Episode airing May 22.*

DON RAMON RESTAURANTE CUBANO | West Palm Beach
If you’re craving authentic Cuban cuisine, look no further than Don Ramon. The beloved community hangout has been on the WPB scene since 1990, serving up Cuban favorites like churrasco, ropa vieja, bistec, and camarones ajillo.

What Fieri sampled: Cuban oxtail stew, imperial rice and tostones rellenos with garlic shrimp. Episode airing May 29.*

WOK BY THE BEACH | Riviera Beach
This standout sushi joint on the waterfront excels at fresh, flavorful sashimi, with 20-plus a la carte options like conch, hamachi, ikura, unagi, and more. It also happens to be in Fieri’s neck of the woods (he lives on Singer Island), so the TV chef already had a few go-to favorite dishes (basil shrimp, for one!). They also have Asian soups and salads, poke bowls, and appetizers. Craving something else? No problem! Opt for a noodle-based entrée like curries, pineapple fried rice, drunken noodles, pad Thai, and more with choice of protein.

What Fieri sampled: basil shrimp, wok-fried combo fried rice with chicken breast, NY strip loin, lobster roll. Episode airing June 12.*
